The ISTB mission The ISTB mission is to: Promote awareness and understanding of the software testing profession in Ireland. Establish software testing as an independent and valued career path for Information Technology professionals in Ireland. Facilitate certification of Information Technology professionals according to ISTQB standards, via the administration of the ISTQB certification schemes within Ireland. Facilitate accreditation of training providers to supply courses to ISTQB standards. Contribute to the Irish and International software testing community through industry and academic cooperation, other professional bodies and conferences. Contribute to the ISTQB mission through participation in ISTQB working parties and associated activities.

Software Testing ISTB supports a wide range of organisations and testing professionals, across all technologies and industries, through the development and provision of Software Testing Standards & Certification. We are continually working to improve the maturity, repeatability and understanding of the Software Testing Engineering practice.

Qualifications The ISTB aims to develop qualifications the industry can rely upon, working within the International body International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB), to produce the international qualification scheme ISTQB Certified Tester. ISTB exists to develop and facilitate the certification of qualifications that deliver truly trustworthy, dependable and effective software testing results.

International Standards The International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB), is composed of representatives from each existing National board, such as the Irish Software Testing Board, the UK Testing Board, American Software Testing Qualification Board, India Software Testing Qualification Board and many others. The ISTQB decides on the standards for certification and accreditation for ISTQB accredited training providers. We provide support for Software Testers and employers by making moving across country borders easier with an Internationally recognised qualification.
